Job Title: RN - PCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 1 year Cardiac Telemetry or PCU experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring skills - Cardiac strip and rhythm interpretation - Experience with arterial lines and titration of drips - Non-invasive ventilator care (BiPAP/CPAP) - Familiarity with vascular lines and chest tubes Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse for our Progressive Care Unit. This unit manages patients requiring continuous monitoring of cardiac, respiratory, hemodynamic, and neurologic status. Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, post STEMI, cardiac interventional procedures, electrophysiology procedures, thoracic surgery, and heart failure. The average daily census on the unit is 18, with a patient ratio of 1:3 or 1:4 depending on interventions. A CNA will be available to assist on the unit. The role includes using electronic medical records and monitoring equipment. Support staff includes a charge nurse and a Rapid Response Team. All rooms are equipped with in-room monitors for continuous cardiac monitoring. Team collaboration is emphasized, fostering a positive, team-focused environment.
