Registered Nurse (RN) - PICU

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to join our team for a 13-week contract starting in October. This position requires working nights and providing exceptional care to pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to children in the PICU.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding promptly to changes.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs.

Schedule

This is a night shift position, requiring a commitment to a schedule of 4 shifts per week, each lasting 12 hours (19:00 - 07:00). Nurses must be available to work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays and 3 weekends every six-week schedule.

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Virginia (or pending).
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications.
  • Previous experience in Pediatric Cardiology is a plus.

Time Off

  • Time off may be approved for up to 40 hours.
  • Time off is not permitted during the first two weeks of the contract.
