Registered Nurse (RN) - PICU

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The ideal candidate will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill children while ensuring a high standard of patient care and safety.

Contract Details

  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: October
  • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00)
  • Schedule: Must work 2 out of the 3 winter holidays and 3 weekends per six-week schedule.
  • Time Off: 40 hours of time off can be approved, but time off is not permitted during the first 2 weeks of the contract.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the PICU.
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions and respond to changes in status.
  • May be required to float to the NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure.
  • BLS and PALS certifications are required.
  • Experience in pediatric cardiac care is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to varying clinical needs and patient populations.
  • Candidates with a pending Virginia license may be considered.
