Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse to join our team. This position involves floating to various pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, pediatric med-surg, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby.

Position Details

• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
• Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend, every other holiday required
• Time Off: Approval for up to 40 hours; no requests for time off can be approved during the first two weeks of assignment

Responsibilities

The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in various settings. Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering comprehensive nursing care to children in critical and postoperative settings.
• Floating to different units as needed, adapting quickly to varying environments and patient needs.
• Maintaining a high level of clinical expertise in pediatric nursing practices.
• Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in PICU required.
• PACU and NICU experience are mandatory.
• Comfortable with pediatric patients and previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU is a plus.
• Current certifications in BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS are required.
• Pediatric PACU experience is highly preferred.
• Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification is required (may be submitted pending, with associated costs).
• Must have Epic experience.
• Must adhere to the float policy.
• Must have a valid Virginia nursing license or be in the process of obtaining one.
