Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a qualified Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide essential nursing care within a Progressive Care Unit, which includes responsibilities for telemetry monitoring and primary nursing duties.

Job Details

  • Unit Information: 15-bed unit comprising 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds.
  • Patient Ratios: 1:4 for Progressive Care; 1:3 for Step-down ICU.
  • Shift Requirements: Scheduled for 36 hours per week, following an initial orientation week. There is no guarantee of hours, and there is no call required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
  • Conduct telemetry monitoring and interpret telemetry strips.
  • Perform fingerstick blood sugar tests.
  • Utilize Meditech charting system and Pyxis for medication management.
  • Monitor patients using BIPAP and continuous cardiac monitoring equipment.
  • Position may require floating to other acute care units, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatrics, ICU, and ER as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of hospital acute care experience within the last year.
  • Experience in Progressive Care and telemetry is preferred.
  • Current ACLS and BLS/BCLS certifications are required. PALS and NIHSS certifications are preferred.

  • Holiday coverage is required.
