Registered Nurse (RN)

Join our dynamic team as a Flex Pool Registered Nurse providing essential care across various medical and surgical units. This position requires adaptability, strong clinical skills, and a commitment to high-quality patient care.

Shift Information

The position involves 12-hour day shifts from 0645 to 1915, with a scheduled commitment of 36 hours per week following the initial week of orientation. Please note, there is no guarantee of hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years
• Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS/BCLS
  • Preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Licensure: Must possess a Hawaii RN license by the start of the assignment if not already licensed in Hawaii

Responsibilities

The Flex Pool RN will float between various units, providing nursing care to a diverse patient population. The role includes:

• Delivering patient-centered care and support across medical and surgical units
• Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Monitoring patient conditions and documenting care in the Meditech EMR system
• Utilizing equipment such as Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes

Unit Information

• Unit Types: Medical Unit, Laulima Unit (Surgical Acute), Cardiovascular Unit (rare occasions)
• Bed Capacity:
  • Medical Unit: 77 beds
  • Laulima Unit: 18 beds
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 15 beds
• Nurse to Patient Ratios:
  • Medical Unit: 1:6 days/evenings, 1:8 nights
  • Laulima Unit: 1:6
  • Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire is required, including clean scrubs.

Training and Orientation

Comprehensive orientation will be provided for each unit to ensure a smooth transition and effective integration into the team.

Additional Information

Holiday coverage will be required.
