Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for night shifts. The role requires providing exceptional nursing care in a Progressive Care Unit, which consists of a 15-bed unit with 3 step-down ICU beds and 12 telemetry beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 for Progressive Care and 1:3 for the Step-down ICU.

Shift Information

• Night Shift: 1845 to 0715
• Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
• No guarantee of hours
• Holiday coverage required

General Job Duties

• Provide primary nursing care
• Perform telemetry monitoring and telemetry strip reading
• Conduct fingerstick blood sugar testing

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech charting system
• Pyxis for medication management
• BIPAP machines
• Continuous cardiac monitoring systems

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of acute care experience in a hospital setting, preferably within the last year
• Experience in Progressive Care and telemetry is preferred

Licensure and Certifications

• Active RN license in the state of Hawaii required before the start of the assignment
• ACLS certification preferred
• Current PALS certification preferred
• NIHSS certification preferred

Additional Requirements

• Floating to other acute care units may be required, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER
• Professional scrubs required as part of the dress code
