Job Summary
Step Down Unit Registered Nurse (RN) Night Shift Location unspecified. This position involves providing patient care in a fast-paced step-down setting with a focus on patients experiencing heart failure, atrial fibrillation, respiratory distress, strokes, and other complex conditions. The role requires a proactive, team-oriented approach and the ability to handle admits and discharges efficiently.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 09/28/2026 to 12/28/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS certification, ACLS certification, NIHSS certification, with at least 2 years of clinical experience in a relevant setting
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro; ability to interpret telemetry strips; experience with electronic charting systems such as EPIC
• Duties: Administering and titrating titratable drips, reading telemetry strips, trouble-shooting equipment like CPAP, collaborating with charge nurses, and providing patient-centered care in a high-acuity unit
• Additional Information: Nurses must pass a pass/fail exam on Friday during orientation, achieving at least 90%. Artificial nails are prohibited, and candidates must hold a valid drivers license to be assessed for radius restrictions. The unit includes patient care techs, respiratory therapists, and telemetry/monitor technicians. Floating to ICU is permitted for those with relevant experience. RTO requests must be submitted upfront, as additional requests will not be approved.
