Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in a hospital setting. This position involves providing primary nursing care to patients in a 15-bed unit that functions as a step-down ICU and telemetry unit. The role requires monitoring telemetry, reading telemetry strips, and managing blood sugar levels, with a focus on ensuring patient safety and comfort during the shift.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Day shift from 0645 to 1915, scheduled for 36 hours per week following the initial week of orientation.
  • Required Qualifications: Current license in the State of Hawaii; at least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year; Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: ACLS certification preferred; current PALS certification preferred; NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to all in-house acute units, including Medical, Surgical/Pediatric, ICU, and Emergency Department departments.
  • Additional Information: Candidates must arrive the Thursday before the start date for employee health appointment on Friday. No call duties are included.
