Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float

Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Float across units to meet census and staffing needs, caring for a diverse patient population including ER-boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical patients
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–1:6 depending on unit acuity
- Perform charge nurse duties as needed on designated smaller units, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general unit coordination
- Document accurately using the EPIC electronic health record system
- Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Participate in holiday coverage; expected to work 3 of the 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; experience must be obtained in the United States (Canadian experience alone does not qualify)
- Charge nurse experience is required
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler (locals accepted at a different rate)
- Must be willing to float to sister facilities nearby the contracted location as needed
- 2 professional references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years required prior to start
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in cardiac step-down or progressive care settings
- Prior experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records
- Experience in a float pool or multi-unit environment
