Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float

Contract | Full-Time | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities
- Float across multiple units to meet census and staffing needs, supporting a diverse patient population including telemetry, medical-surgical, and ER-boarded patients
- Deliver direct patient care with nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity
- On select smaller units, assume Charge Nurse duties including staffing coordination, bed flow management, and general unit oversight
- Document all patient care activities accurately using EPIC
- Collaborate with LPNs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license — compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a relevant clinical setting
- Charge Nurse experience required
- US-based clinical experience required; Canadian experience alone does not qualify
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a standard traveler; locals are accepted under separate terms
- Must submit all time-off requests and scheduling needs prior to or at the time of submission — post-offer requests may not be accommodated
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a cardiac step-down or progressive care unit
- Prior float pool or multi-unit nursing experience
- Familiarity with managing ER-boarded patients in an inpatient setting
