Description:
Float Registered Nurse needed for a short-term acute care facility.
Charge experience and cardiac step down experience are ideal but not required.
Nurse will work 4x12 hour shifts from 07:00 to 19:30.
Patient population can include a variety of cases, such as ER boarded patients, telemetry, and medical-surgical.
The Float RN team fills the needs throughout the institution.
Nurse to patient ratio varies from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on unit acuity.
Charge responsibilities may apply in small units staffed with 1-2 RNs, supported by LPNs and CNAs.
On these units, the RN may function as the Charge Nurse and manage staffing, bed flow, and coordination.
Experience in the US healthcare system is required; Canadian experience will not qualify.
The organization values flexibility and collaboration among staff.
Previous experience floating between various units is preferred.
Nurses may be expected to float between nearby facilities as needed.
Travelers' refusal to float may impact guaranteed hours.
Two references covering one year within the last three years are required during the compliance process.
Providers will be supplied with necessary communication devices for their duties.
