Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week; weekend requirement of 12-16 shifts per contract; floating required as needed

Highlights:

• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on a 41-bed medical/surgical telemetry unit
• Care for diverse patient diagnoses including diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, hip fracture, and COVID-19
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
• 13-20 week contract assignments accepted with 24 hours of unit orientation
• Required to participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team for emergency preparedness

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg and Telemetry experience required
• Current BLS (BCLS) certification required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• North Carolina RN license or active Compact license
• Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, central and peripheral line management, and non-invasive airway management
• Experience with feeding tube care, hemodialysis management, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and isolation precautions
• Competency in phlebotomy, starting IVs, PICC line management, PCA pumps, and accessing ports preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
