Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Traveler Experience Required. - Interpretation of dysrhythmias. - Management of dysrhythmias. - Telemetry monitoring. - Colostomy care. - Feeding tube care and management. - Blood Product Administration. - Phlebotomy. - Isolation Precautions. - CPAP/BiPAP management. - High Flow Nasal Cannula management. - Oxygen administration. Description: This position is for a registered nurse in a float pool supporting an emergency department holding unit. Patients in this unit are waiting for an inpatient bed. They may have various medical/surgical adult diagnoses. Travelers may encounter PCU level patients. Expectations include taking MS/Tele cases and floating to ED and MedSurg areas as needed. Target patient ratios are 1:6 for MS/Tele and 1:4 for PCU level patients. Staff are required to work every other weekend. Roles may include assignment to storm or hurricane teams. Contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events. The patient population includes those with any adult medical/surgical diagnoses. This is a fast-paced environment with high-acuity patients. Standard medical equipment includes cardiac monitors and IV pumps. Charting will be conducted using a specified electronic documentation system. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting. All candidates will be interviewed due to high turnover rates.
