Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,042 per week in Wilmington, NC

Job Opportunity – Emergency Department Holding / Float Pool RN – North Carolina

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Target ratios: 1:6 for MS/Tele patients or 1:4 for PCU level patients. 12-hour orientation provided.

Highlights:

• ED Holding Support position located in the Float Pool, supporting patients in the Emergency Department waiting for inpatient bed placement
• Contract duration: 13+ weeks with a hard stop date of February 27, 2027 to support the unit through the holiday season
• High-acuity, fast-paced environment with adult medical/surgical diagnoses, including PCU-level patients
• Float responsibilities include MS/Tele units, Emergency Department, and MedSurg areas as needed
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
• Scrubs provided: Navy

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Strong clinical skills including MS/Tele, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), blood product administration, chest tube management, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy management
• Proficiency in colostomy care, feeding tube management, renal failure care, peripheral and PICC line management, heparin and insulin protocols, and isolation precautions
• Preferred skills: NIHSS, IV insulin protocols, hemodialysis management, port access, central line blood draws, IV starts, CVA care, neuro/spinal/ortho trauma experience, and wound care/wound vac
• Epic experience preferred
• Maximum 7 days requested time off; no RTO allowed during first week or major holidays
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
