Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specialized in Med/Surg Telemetry to join our healthcare team. This position involves working night shifts with a focus on providing top-notch patient care and support in a dynamic environment.

Shift Information

• Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (18:45 - 07:15)
• Contract Duration: 13-26 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) in this role will be responsible for:

• Providing patient care in the Med/Surg unit with a focus on telemetry monitoring.
• Interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, including remote telemetry monitoring.
• Administering various treatments and medications including blood products and IV medications.
• Managing patients with conditions such as renal failure, diabetes, and COPD.
• Assisting with pre and post-operative care, including hemodialysis management and surgical recovery.
• Utilizing Rapid Response and Code teams in critical situations.
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate documentation using electronic systems.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry unit.
• Traveler Experience: Unit accepts first-time travelers.
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required.
• Ability to work holidays and handle emergency situations as needed.
• Pass EKG Testing prior to start.
• Demonstrated competency in essential nursing skills, including IV management and wound care.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS certification.
• Charge nurse experience.
• Experience with electronic documentation and community hospital settings.
• Knowledge of continuous bladder irrigation and tracheostomy care.
• Previous experience with telemetry monitoring on the unit.

Work Environment

The RN may be required to float to other units as needed and may be assigned to work with the Storm Team or Hurricane Team during catastrophic events. A strong commitment to teamwork and flexible scheduling is essential.

Scrubs

Uniform: Navy blue or white scrubs are required.

Unit Orientation

An orientation period of 24 hours will be provided to familiarize the RN with unit protocols and procedures.
