Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse with a specialty in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry to join our team. This position requires a strong focus on patient care, with responsibilities spanning a variety of clinical situations. The ideal candidate will possess both the ability to manage patient conditions effectively and the skills necessary for remote monitoring and care management.

Shift Details

• Shift: Night - 3x12-hour (18:45 - 07:15)
• No block schedules available
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients with a range of conditions including but not limited to diabetes, dementia, COVID-19, pneumonia, and renal failure.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Manage and care for patients with bowel obstructions, colostomies, and ileostomies.
• Provide pre and post-operative care, including after cardiac surgeries and angiograms.
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely, including insulin and PCA management.
• Conduct assessments and develop nursing care plans.
• Actively participate in rapid response situations and code teams.
• Deliver wound care and manage drains, ensuring optimal patient recovery.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Med/Surg or Telemetry setting.
• 1st time travelers welcomed; local candidates accepted.
• Must possess current BLS and NIHSS certifications.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Charge experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in electronic documentation and telemetry monitoring systems.

Patient Care Skills

• Management of patients on high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, CPAP, and non-invasive airways.
• Experience in hemodialysis management and blood product administration.
• Effective oral suctioning and oxygen administration techniques.
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE usage.

Additional Information

Candidate must be available to float to multiple locations if required and may be expected to report to work during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations. A 24-hour orientation is provided upon acceptance of the position.
