Registered Nurse - Neuro Unit

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neuro Unit team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong teamwork approach and a profound focus on patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care within a neuro-focused environment.
• Ensure effective teamwork and communication with healthcare staff.
• Maintain patient safety protocols at all times.
• Participate actively in patient assessments and care planning.
• Document patient information accurately using electronic medical records systems.
• Assist in emergency situations as required, including potential disaster response.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Focus on patient safety and teamwork.
• Willingness to float to other units as needed.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale.
• Previous neuro nursing experience is preferred.
• Interest in or prior experience in the charge nurse role.

Schedule and Shift Details

• Shift: Nights
• Ratios: 1 nurse to 6 patients
• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Contract lengths ranging from 13 to 20 weeks
• Weekend requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts (approximately every other weekend)

Additional Information

Contract staff may be expected to work during catastrophic events or disasters. Additionally, all nursing staff must complete a 24-hour unit orientation and will need to pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.

Uniform Requirements

Scrubs are not provided; please wear navy blue scrubs while on duty.
