Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a fast-paced Medical/Surgical/Telemetry unit. This role requires a dedicated professional who can efficiently manage patient care in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Must have 2 successfully completed assignments; first-time travelers will not be accepted.
• Understanding of IV starts and Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Telemetry is preferred.

Job Details:

• Patient Ratios: Target ratio of 1:6; may occasionally reach 1:7 due to call-outs.
• Unit Orientation: 36-hour orientation provided.
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15.
• Floating Requirement: Must be willing to float to other medical/surgical units as needed.
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks or longer accepted, with end date through 2/27.

Patient Population:

The unit provides care for patients with various gastrointestinal (GI) conditions, including but not limited to:

• Blood loss and anemia associated with GI tract issues
• Infections
• Renal patients
• Surgical patients post-GI surgery
• Telemetry monitoring for cardiac rhythms in 10 designated beds

Unit Systems:

The unit utilizes PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR systems for patient management.

Dress Code:

Approved scrubs are navy and/or white.

Additional Information:

All candidates must successfully complete EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty. This is a high-demand role requiring adaptability and quick decision-making.
