Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. This position involves working three 12-hour night shifts per week, as well as weekends and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver acute care rehabilitation for patients with various conditions including CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injuries, and neurological diagnoses.
• Conduct assessments and document patient health history, including allergies and medication reconciliation.
• Interpret laboratory results and monitor vital signs: blood pressure, respirations, temperature, and pulse.
• Perform dressing changes and set up aseptic and sterile procedure trays.
• Manage specimen collection, including capillary, throat swabs, urine samples (UA clean catch), and phlebotomy.
• Provide telephone triage and manage pharmacy calls and patient refill requests.

Patient Care Ratios

The patient-to-nurse ratio is typically 1:6, with a rotating schedule that includes one unit where the nurse may care for 7 patients with similar acuity levels.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are not accepted.
• Acute care rehabilitation experience is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records.
• Ability to float between multiple locations within the region as required.
