Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro Medical-Surgical/Telemetry – Wisconsin
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Wisconsin

Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 1900 - 0730, Monday through Friday with weekend rotation and holidays as needed. Patient ratio 1:4. 24 hours of orientation provided.
Highlights:
- Specialized 25-bed neurosurgery general care unit treating diverse neuro patient populations including medical and post-surgical cases
- Work with patients experiencing stroke, multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, and post-neurosurgery recovery
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Magnet-designated facility recognized as a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program and nationally ranked teaching institution
- Patient-centered care environment with collaborative multidisciplinary team including Advanced Practice Providers and evidence-based practice focus
- Opportunity to advance clinical skills with complex neuro cases including epilepsy treatment and ortho trauma patients
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Wisconsin or Compact state license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in Neuro Medical-Surgical/Telemetry within the last 3 years required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only) required
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions available)
- Must successfully pass telemetry competency exam prior to start date with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric dysrhythmia interpretation
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Must reside 50 miles or more from the facility
Core Clinical Skills:
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Pre/post neurosurgery care, CVA management, and traumatic brain injury
- Central line and PICC line management, blood product administration
- IV insulin protocols, heparin administration, PCA management
- Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, wound care/wound vac
- BiPAP/CPAP management, oxygen administration, oral suctioning
- Starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, accessing/managing ports
