Schedule: 12-hour shifts with rotating days/nights or night shifts based on departmental needs; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio; 72-hour orientation provided

Highlights:

  • Medical Surgical Oncology unit serving 36 patients with focus on chemotherapy administration, cardiac monitoring, and symptom management
  • Patient population includes breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancer diagnoses, plus sickle cell crises
  • Epic charting system required; GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds utilized
  • Strong interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and social services
  • Emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
  • Float requirements limited to equivalent or lower acuity units within medical surgical oncology

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required, with current and consistent practice within the last 12 months
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Oncology experience strongly preferred but not required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Skills required: interpretation of dysrhythmias, accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, IV start, chest tube assistance, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
  • Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
