Job Opportunity – Medical Oncology Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; staffing ratios goal of 1:4 (may be 1:5); weekend coverage variable based on unit needs; floating required to other Med-Surg Oncology units; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental priorities

Highlights:
  • Medical Oncology unit caring for all solid tumor cancers throughout the cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care
  • Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, esophageal cancers, and those receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy
  • Telemetry monitoring experience required; oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Epic EMR system; 36-bed unit with 72 hours orientation
  • Heavy emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention
  • Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Rapid Response Teams
Requirements:
  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of current acute care RN experience (must be working consistently within the last 12 months)
  • BLS certification required; ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and monitoring, IV access and management, blood product administration, central line blood draws, chemotherapy administration, port management, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
  • Previous travel experience preferred
  • Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
  • Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
  • Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
