# Job Opportunity – Medical Oncology Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Day and night shifts available; 72-hour orientation; staffing ratio goal of 1:4 (may flex to 1:5); weekend coverage varies based on unit needs; floating required to other Medical-Surgical Oncology units

Highlights:

  • Provide comprehensive care for patients with all solid tumor cancers across the entire cancer journey, from diagnosis through treatment to end-of-life care
  • Common patient diagnoses include breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, as well as patients receiving antineoplastic chemotherapy
  • 36-bed unit with interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and social services
  • Electronic medical records using EPIC charting system
  • Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required; medical-surgical background welcome

Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience; must be current and consistent within the last 12 months
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
  • Telemetry interpretation and monitoring skills required
  • Experience with chemotherapy administration, port management, central line blood draws, IV therapy, blood product administration, and tracheostomy care
  • EPIC charting experience required
  • ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
  • Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director
