Schedule: Variable scheduling based on unit needs; weekend coverage required
Highlights:
- 36-bed medical-surgical oncology unit specializing in cancer care and symptom management
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with breast, lung, prostate, pancreatic, colon, and esophageal cancers, plus sickle cell crises
- Epic charting system with 72 hours of orientation provided
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Float opportunities to other medical-surgical oncology units within the organization
- Local and travel candidates accepted; pre-approved time off available with submission
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience in medical-surgical oncology
- Current and consistent specialty experience within the last 12 months required
- BLS certification required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in chemotherapy administration, port access/management, BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV placement and maintenance, PCA pumps, telemetry monitoring, insulin drip titration, and tracheostomy care
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required: one must be from a manager, director, or formal supervisor; charge nurse acceptable for second reference
- Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
