Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week, day/night rotating schedule based on organizational needs, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit (Surgical Step-Down) specializing in post-surgical overflow, bariatric and colorectal surgery, and general medicine
• Patient ratios of 3-4:1 for Progressive Care with all attempts to maintain 3:1
• Epic charting system utilized across all units
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Telemetry monitoring experience required; must pass facility telemetry test
• 24 hours of orientation provided; first-time travelers welcome with manager review

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care or Step-Down experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Telemetry monitoring experience and ability to pass telemetry competency test
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Proficiency in skills including IV management, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, wound care, and non-invasive airway management
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Position Details:

• Rotating shifts assigned based on organizational needs with flexibility between day and night coverage
• Float required to other units within the health system as needed
• One pre-approved time off period available during contract
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with various post-surgical and medical diagnoses
