Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 36 hours per week, day/night rotating schedule based on organizational needs, every other weekend required
Highlights:- Progressive Care Unit (Surgical Step-Down) specializing in post-surgical overflow, bariatric and colorectal surgery, and general medicine
- Patient ratios of 3-4:1 for Progressive Care with all attempts to maintain 3:1
- Epic charting system utilized across all units
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
- Telemetry monitoring experience required; must pass facility telemetry test
- 24 hours of orientation provided; first-time travelers welcome with manager review
Requirements:- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care or Step-Down experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Telemetry monitoring experience and ability to pass telemetry competency test
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Proficiency in skills including IV management, central line care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, wound care, and non-invasive airway management
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
Position Details:- Rotating shifts assigned based on organizational needs with flexibility between day and night coverage
- Float required to other units within the health system as needed
- One pre-approved time off period available during contract
- Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with various post-surgical and medical diagnoses
