Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Registered Nurse License Required Certifications: BLS Required; ACLS Preferred Must-Have: Epic charting experience Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in a planned surgery unit within the medical surgical and telemetry specialty. The position will primarily involve working with adult acute care medical-surgical and telemetry post-operative patients. Typical patient diagnoses include orthopedic, neurosurgery, urology, and general surgery. Additional patient care may encompass thoracic, vascular, trauma, and other medical surgical needs. The patient ratio on the unit will range from 1:4 to 1:5. Every other weekend coverage is required, with some flexibility based on department needs. Travelers may float to other acute care units as necessary. The unit utilizes Epic for charting purposes. Candidates should have proficiency in accessing and managing ports, administering chemotherapy, and monitoring various medical devices. Experience with hemodialysis, tracheostomy care, and other high-acuity patient management skills is expected. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for collaborating with interdisciplinary support services.
