Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in MS/Tele License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred. Experience in telemetry and cardiac telemetry required. Experience with dysrhythmias management and interpretation is essential. Familiarity with IV management, blood product administration, and central line care required. Travel experience preferred. Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in medical-surgical telemetry. The average daily census on the unit is 29 patients with a total of 30 beds. The nurse will be required to manage and interpret dysrhythmias effectively. Responsibilities include telemetry monitoring and use of rapid response/code teams. The role involves feeding tube care, blood product administration, and central line management. Additional skills necessary for this position include starting and maintaining IVs, along with proficiency in heparin protocols. The nurse will also manage cardiac drips, PCA, CVA cases, and general post-operative care. The unit provides care for adults and geriatric patients with a variety of diagnoses. Patient diagnoses may include general intermediate cases, sepsis, wounds, CHF, and cardiac arrhythmias. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams for enhanced patient care. Flexibility to float within the service line and to sister facilities is expected as needed. Weekend coverage requires 4-6 shifts every 6 weeks. Compliance with infection control and isolation precautions is crucial. Wound care and management using wound vacs may also be part of the responsibilities. The nursing staff will utilize the EPIC charting system for patient documentation.
