Job Title: PCU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: 2 years of community hospital experience required, previous charge experience preferred License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS CPI preferred Must-Have: Community hospital experience 2 years of experience Charge experience preferred Description: The PCU Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a progressive care unit. The nurse will monitor patients with cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, and neurological conditions. Ratios for patient care will be 1:5. The role will require the nurse to float between departments, units, and facilities as needed. The responsibilities will include cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Nurses will assist with post-cardiac procedures and manage pre/post-hemodialysis patients. The role will involve IV therapy, phlebotomy, managing blood products, and administering medications such as heparin and vasoactive drips. The nurse will also manage respiratory care, including tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management. Professional responsibilities include adhering to isolation precautions and providing wound care. Nurses will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient support. This role may require weekend shifts as part of the unit's scheduling needs. Additional skills in managing patients with conditions such as sepsis, pneumonia, and ETOH withdrawal are required.
