Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available, every other weekend required
Highlights:
- Fast-paced orthopedic and neuro spine unit with post-surgical and med-surg patient population
- Patient ratios of 5-6:1, with occasional flex to 7:1 in extreme circumstances
- Epic EMR system; EKG testing required prior to start
- Contract length of 13 weeks or longer available
- Floating to other med-surg units within the facility may be required based on census
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with orthopedic work experience required
- Epic EMR experience strongly preferred, especially for first-time travelers
- Current RN license (NC or Compact state)
- Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale)
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, charge nurse experience, Level I trauma experience
- Proficiency in IV starts and telemetry monitoring
- Skills in pain management protocols, PCA pumps, central/peripheral line care, blood product administration, and total joint replacement care
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Patient Population:
- 39-bed unit with average daily census of 37 patients
- Orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients
- High volume of patients requiring vigilant pain management and customer service-oriented care
- Adult patient population

Additional Information:
