Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week available. Self-scheduling based on unit needs with nurse manager input. Every other weekend required. Block scheduling requests reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Highlights:
- Surgical patient population including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedic/spine, GI, and vascular procedures
- Target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
- Epic charting system with Pyxis and SBAR support
- Contract length of 13 weeks or longer through February 27 end date
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- 36-hour orientation program provided
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required (first-time travelers accepted)
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- IV start and telemetry monitoring skills required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Experience with Epic charting system required
- North Carolina or Compact state nursing license
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Experience with post-surgical care, blood product administration, central line management, and wound care preferred
- Willingness to float occasionally as needed
