Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Floating to similar Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units as needed.
Highlights:
- Primary neuroscience unit specializing in stroke care, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injuries, subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
- Patient ratio of 1:6 with a daily census of approximately 50 patients
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
- Contract lengths available: 13–26 weeks
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, and more
- 36-hour orientation program with unit-specific training provided
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of direct Medical/Surgical experience (required)
- Must have at least 2 successfully completed travel assignments (first-time travelers will not be accepted)
- Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- Required Certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Preferred Certification: ACLS
- Strong IV start skills and telemetry experience required
- Demonstrated competency in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
- Experience with neurological patient populations including stroke, seizure disorders, and intracranial bleeds
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
