  • Setting: Acute care medical-surgical unit

  • Duration: 13-week travel assignment
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,200 - $2,320
  • Hours Per Week: 36 hours
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
  • Shift Pattern: Rotating days/nights with every other weekend and holiday
  • Department Size: 47-bed unit
  • Float: May float to other Med/Surg units across campus
  • Charting System: EPIC electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Orientation: 1 day of lead center training plus 2 unit shifts with a preceptor

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
  • Experience in a large hospital setting (200+ beds) and a Level 2 or higher trauma center
  • Travel nurse experience required, unless supported by multiple years of experience in a large Level 1 setting
  • Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred
  • Active North Dakota RN license or compact RN license
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • EPIC experience required
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality patient care for medical-surgical and surgical oncology patients
  • Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional team members to plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
  • Monitor patient status, assess changes in condition, and support timely interventions
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and unit protocols
  • Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately in EPIC
  • Use unit equipment such as AccuDose, bladder scanners, Phillips monitors, and telemetry systems
  • Deliver care aligned with age-specific and population-specific standards
  • Maintain professionalism while working 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled
