Assignment Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for the MedSurg/Tele unit. This role involves working in a Level 1 Trauma Teaching Hospital with a robust team to care for patients with various medical-surgical needs. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical assessment skills and experience in a fast-paced environment.

Assignment Details

  • Shift: 12-hour shifts, 7A-7P or 7P-7A
  • Weekend Rotation: 5-6 weekend shifts out of 12 (on a 6-week schedule)
  • Holiday Expectations: Work one shift of each major holiday
  • Floating: All adult med-surg/telemetry units in house
  • Estimated gross weekly pay package: $2250 (negotiable)
  • Charting System: EPIC
  • Census: 35

Responsibilities

  • Provide care to patients with orthopedic, trauma, and chronic diseases
  • Perform trach care, chest tube management, and PIV starts
  • Conduct glucommander, insulin drips, and heparin drips
  • Engage in care coordination with interdisciplinary teams
  • Facilitate discharge planning and patient education

Qualifications

Required:

  • BLS certification
  • 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience
  • EKG competency
  • Strong med-surg nursing skills for Level 1 Trauma Hospital

Preferred:

  • ACLS certification
  • National certification in Medical-surgical or Nephrology nursing
