Assignment Overview

Join a dynamic medical-surgical/telemetry unit providing comprehensive care to patients with acute or chronic diseases. The ideal candidate has a strong clinical background in Med/Tele and thrives in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Hospital environment. First-time travelers are welcome.

  • Patient Ratios: RN: 1:4-6, LPN: 1:4-6, CNA: 2-3 per shift
  • Charting System: EPIC

Responsibilities

  • Provide care coordination with interdisciplinary teams
  • Conduct discharge planning and patient education on renal and fluid management
  • Perform trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, and manage medication drips
  • Conduct IV insertion and care, central line management, and wound care
  • Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret findings

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience
  • BLS certification
  • Pass EKG competency exam
  • Skills in trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion and care

Preferred:

  • ACLS certification
  • National Medical-Surgical certification
