    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / IMC / Stepdown)

    Location

    Greenville, NC | Progressive Care Unit

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Expected 36 hours/week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care within a 64-bed intermediate and general care flex unit, maintaining a 1:4 RN-to-patient staffing ratio
    • Manage a cardiac-focused patient population including NSTEMI, acute coronary syndrome, congestive heart failure, chest pain, pacemakers, and implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICD)
    • Perform and interpret cardiac rhythm strips and EKG monitoring; manage cardiac drips and titration of drips
    • Support bedside procedures including cardioversions and transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), as well as pre/post-cardiac catheterization care
    • Care for overflow medicine patients presenting with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis, and GI bleeds
    • Collaborate with nursing assistants and the medical team to facilitate continuity of care and ICU transition when clinically indicated; NIHSS assessment required
    Required Qualifications
    • Active North Carolina RN license or valid Compact RN license
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Must pass an EKG exam prior to start as part of the credentialing process
    • Strong cardiac skills with demonstrated ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
    • Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with EPIC electronic health records system
    • Prior experience in a PCU, IMC, or stepdown unit with a cardiac or cardiovascular subspecialty population
    • Familiarity with LVAD management, high-risk cardiac OB, or post-cardiac arrest care
    • Experience with self-scheduling environments and flexible shift options
