Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; compact licensure accepted
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably in cardiac care, progressive care, or telemetry
  • BLS certification through AHA
  • ACLS certification through AHA
  • NIHSS certification
  • Strong cardiac and monitored-patient experience required
  • Experience with IV insertion and advanced patient monitoring
  • One professional reference from your entire work history
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a fast-paced clinical environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular patients
  • Monitor patients in an intermediate care and general care setting
  • Manage arterial lines, central lines, and intravenous drips
  • Perform IV starts, peripheral and arterial blood draws, and ongoing patient assessments
  • Assist with bedside procedures such as TEE, cardioversions, chest tube placements, and thoracentesis
  • Support care for Dubhoff/NGT, J-tube/PEG, chest tube, pacemaker, PCA, and epidural patients
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe staffing and excellent patient outcomes
  • Deliver high-quality progressive care nursing while adapting to a self-scheduled night-shift workflow
