Start Date: October 5, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Self-scheduling system balanced and approved by staffing coordinator.
Highlights:
- Intermediate Critical Care Unit specializing in DKA, Sickle Cell Crisis, Sepsis, Respiratory Distress, Pneumonia, Heart Failure, Stroke, and stroke-like symptoms
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4; floating to Medical-Surgical units as needed (1:6 ratio)
- Equipment experience includes BiPAP, CPAP, and Optiflow; charting system is Epic with Pyxis medication management
- 36-hour orientation period with comprehensive onboarding and annual competency modules
- Recent ICU experience strongly preferred; unit functions with Rapid Response RN protocols
- Scrubs: All navy or navy and white
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with recent ICU background required
- Current certifications: ACLS and BLS (required); NIHSS (preferred)
- Epic charting system experience required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Core skills: IV start and maintenance, cardiac telemetry, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, PCA management, use of Rapid Response teams
- Preferred skills: Care of ventilated patients, wound care/wound vac, telemetry interpretation, management of dysrhythmias
- First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
