Description:
RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite.
Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly result in cancellation.
NEEDS SOMEONE WITH RECENT ICU EXPERIENCE.
The unit requires a seasoned RN with a minimum of ICCU and travel experience.
Must be comfortable working independently, as there may be shifts when the traveler is the only critical care inpatient nurse.
The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4.
The majority of patient diagnoses include DKA, sickle cell disease, sepsis, respiratory distress, pneumonia, heart failure, and stroke or stroke-like symptoms.
Skills required include IV start, telemetry, cardiac telemetry, titration of cardiac drips, and management of feeding tubes.
The ability to work with rapid response teams and follow heparin protocols is necessary.
The unit has a focus on providing specialized care for critically ill patients.
Weekend coverage requires working at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
Floating to the medical-surgical unit may be required as needed with a patient ratio of 1:6.
Candidates must pass an EKG test prior to commencement.
All missed shifts should be made up within the same week if possible.
If not, time should be added to the end of the contract to compensate for missed shifts.
Travel pairs are allowed but must be on different units and disclosed.
All candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility as specified in the job description.
