Job Opportunity – Critical Care Float Pool RN – Ohio
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, night shift; minimum every other weekend; contract must extend through January 2, 2027
Highlights:
- Float to multiple ICU settings based on staffing needs and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, CVICU, and more
- Work with diverse patient populations including transplant patients (kidney, liver, lung, heart) and complex critical care cases
- EPIC charting system utilized across all units
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Float within units of equivalent or lower acuity based on facility policy
- Access to advanced equipment and procedures including ventilator management, external ventricular drains, and hemodynamic monitoring
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required
- Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license accepted)
- Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with EPIC charting system required
- Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
- Experience with arterial line management, central line care, vasoactive drip titration, and cardiac drip management
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor)
