Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotation or Nights); shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on unit needs; 24-bed unit with 23 average daily census
Highlights:
- Care for adult and geriatric patients with complex, hemodynamically compromised conditions including oncologic emergencies, ARDS, COPD, GI bleeds, sepsis, and neuromuscular diseases
- Utilize advanced critical care skills including mechanical ventilation, CRRT, pulmonary artery catheter placement, arterial pressure monitoring, and chemotherapy administration
- Work with sophisticated technology including NxStage CRRT machines, Cortrak NG/Dobhoff placement systems, Alaris IV pumps, and GE monitors
- Epic electronic medical record system required; 72-hour orientation provided
- Interdisciplinary support with interpretation services available
- Two pre-approved time-off periods available during assignment
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of current, acute care MICU experience (must be actively working in specialty within the last 12 months)
- Previous experience with 1:2 patient ratios in intensive care settings
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in ventilator management, IV starts, arterial line management, central line care, BiPAP/CPAP, vasoactive drip titration, and cardiac drip management
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Experience with high-acuity patients requiring continuous IV sedation, blood product administration, and procedural sedation monitoring
- First-time travelers not accepted for this position
- 2 professional references required (at least 1 from manager/director or formal leadership)
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
