Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: Active state RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH, CPI (completed during onboarding); NRP, TNCC preferred Must-Have: - Charge experience required - Experience with patient ratio of 1:4, up to 5 with lower acuity - Experience with Epic charting system - Community hospital experience Description: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse position requires two years of experience in the emergency department. Candidates must be available for rotating night and evening shifts. The primary need for this position is during the night shift. The nurse will care for patients across all age ranges, from infants to geriatrics. The nurse will manage various patient diagnoses in a fast-paced environment. Mandatory weekends every other week and holidays as scheduled are required. Floating between specialty areas and other facilities may be necessary. Pre-scheduled on-call shifts are not required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate proficiency in numerous critical skills including phlebotomy, emergency medication administration, and dysrhythmia management. The candidate must be comfortable in managing ventilated patients and performing intubation in emergency situations. This position includes care management for complex diagnoses and psychiatric conditions. Strong communication skills and teamwork are essential for interdisciplinary support. The nurse will work with physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The daily census is approximately 90 visits with a patient capacity of 36 beds.
