Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Clinical Decision Unit. This position involves working night shifts, providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide patient care in a clinical decision unit with a ratio of 5 patients per nurse.
• Float to the Emergency Department as needed.
• Assess and manage patients, including administering medications and therapies.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize Cerner for charting and communication using the SBAR format.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required, with at least 1 year of experience in a related specialty.
• Telemetry and ER holding experience preferred.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI (CPI can be obtained through designated providers prior to the start date).
• Active West Virginia or compact RN license required; pending licenses will be accepted but must be active by the start date.

Special Skills Required

• Experience with IV therapy, including port access and blood product administration.
• Knowledge of neurological and psychiatric conditions including CVA, seizure disorders, and substance withdrawal management.
• Ability to manage respiratory conditions using CPAP/BiPAP and care for patients requiring ventilator support and tracheostomy management.
• Understanding of medication protocols including Heparin and cardiac drips (no titration required).

Work Schedule

This position requires a commitment to work three 12-hour night shifts per week, including every other weekend. The option for guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 per week is available, with overtime after 48 hours.
