Level III NICU Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-hour schedule from 07:00 - 19:00. Weekend shifts are required, with 6 shifts in a 6-week period, following a variable self-scheduling system.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Level III NICU Registered Nurse to join our pediatric team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to neonates in a Level IV NICU unit, demonstrating strong clinical skills and the ability to manage critical situations. The nurse will float between units as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medication and perform procedures as required, including the management of arterial lines and central lines.
  • Provide comprehensive care to neonates, including those with conditions such as respiratory distress, hyperbilirubinemia, and necrotizing enterocolitis.
  • Utilize advanced therapeutic techniques, including high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide therapy.
  • Monitor and document patient health status accurately within the electronic medical record system (Epic).
  • Engage in patient and family education to support breastfeeding and managing care at home.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2+ years of NICU experience, with preference for Level III experience.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state, with a compact license required.
  • Current certifications in BLS and NRP.
