• Weekend Commitment: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling period

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of NICU nursing experience required
• 2+ years of NICU experience preferred
• Level III NICU experience strongly preferred
• Current Texas Registered Nurse license or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS and NRP Advanced certifications required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record charting required
• Ability to care for neonates with complex medical and surgical needs
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented neonatal care environment with patient ratios of 1:2-4
• Ability to float between related pediatric units when needed

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to neonates in a high-acuity NICU setting
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in condition for premature and medically complex infants
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and respiratory support as indicated
• Support families through education, updates, and compassionate bedside care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care
• Manage advanced neonatal equipment and procedures as assigned, including ventilator support, central line care, and thermoregulation
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Follow unit standards, scheduling expectations, and floating requirements while helping maintain excellent patient outcomes
