Description

American Traveler is hiring a Level IV NICU RN for a children's hospital position requiring 2+ years of NICU experience and a TX or compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Level IV Neonatal ICU within a Children's Hospital / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Patient ratios of 1:2-4
• Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6-week period on a self-scheduling basis
• Block scheduling required
• Floating between units required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• NRP Advanced certification required
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Level III NICU experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Proficiency required in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and administration of blood products and emergency medications
• Experience with neonatal respiratory care including ventilator management, high frequency ventilation, and CPAP required
• Experience with neonatal conditions such as NEC, respiratory distress syndrome, and neonatal sepsis required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive neonatal critical care including thermoregulation, developmental care, and patient/family teaching
• Manage complex neonatal cases including gastroschisis, NEC, and neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Support respiratory care including nitric oxide administration, oscillators, and tracheostomy management
• Assist with procedures such as lumbar puncture and ICP monitoring
• Navy scrubs required for RNs
• Free parking available in unrestricted spaces with bike racks
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the application process
• Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities near the contracted location
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Contracts longer than 13 weeks may be available for candidates who desire an extended assignment
