Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Neuro ICU RN with prior ICU experience, Epic proficiency, and required craniotomy/EVD skills for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Neuro ICU setting caring for ICU and IMC patient populations at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 1900-0730 with every other weekend rotation
• 4x12 schedules and Friday-Sunday block schedules will also be accepted
• Some holiday coverage required
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Floating required as needed based on facility needs

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care ICU experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Required experience managing craniotomy and EVD (external ventricular drain) patients as a hardstop requirement
• Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher passing score
• Skills required include IV therapy, central/arterial line management, ventilator management, ABG interpretation, continuous IV sedation/paralytics, cardiac drip titration, CVA/stroke management, ICP monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to neurosurgical and neuro-critical patients including post-craniotomy and traumatic brain injury cases
• Located within a Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility as local candidates will not be accepted
• If the telemetry exam is failed twice, a certificate of completion for a cardiac interpretation review course must be submitted before a third attempt is permitted
• Assignment will be cancelled if the telemetry exam is not passed after three attempts
• Parking permit required if parking onsite, though alternative transportation options are available
