Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring multi-unit ICU experience and Academic Level I Trauma Center background.

Details

• Critical Care Float role rotating through multiple ICU units including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery, as well as IMC/Progressive/General care populations
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00-07:30, with 4x12 shifts available if preferred
• Every other weekend required along with some holiday coverage
• Floating required as needed across ICU units
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• NIHSS and TNCC certifications preferred
• 5 years of experience preferred; minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required in the specialty
• Academic Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Must pass a telemetry exam with strict passing criteria (adult and pediatric) prior to starting
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
• Experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drip titration, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with neurological care including EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery management preferred
• CRRT/CVVHD experience required; CRRT-Nextstage experience a plus
• Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella, and Swan Ganz monitoring preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties within an Academic Level I Trauma Center
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
• Holiday coverage required for some designated holidays
