Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift assignment at a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital, requiring 2 years of Neuro MS/Tele experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), Monday-Friday with weekend rotation
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in Neuro MS/Tele within the last 3 years
• Epic EMR experience required, within past 12 months preferred
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting, including strict criteria for lethal rhythm identification and heart block interpretation
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• All references must be removed prior to consideration

Additional Information

• Provide care for neuro/psych, ortho trauma, and general med/surg telemetry patients including CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and substance withdrawal cases
• Perform cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, wound care, and respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care)
• Participate in rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted
• First-time travelers considered if they have 2 years of Level I or similar size hospital inpatient neuro experience within the last two years
• Facility located at University Hospital, 600 Highland Ave, Madison, WI, ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital
