Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

  • Inpatient Med/Surg Tele unit specializing in stroke and TIA patients along with higher acuity med-surg cases
  • Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses such as stroke/TIA, seizure, syncope, pneumonia, chest pain, dialysis, acute kidney failure, post heart cath, respiratory failure, encephalopathy, CHF, and sepsis
  • Capable of performing peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on nights
  • Floating required to other units based on facility need and staff skill set
  • Uses Omnicell medication system and Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license required
  • Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Tele or similar unit required
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care for stroke/TIA and higher acuity med-surg patients with a strong focus on patient experience
  • Participate in weekly orientation held every Monday along with annual compliance training
  • Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility system-wide to be eligible, with an exception allowing night shift travelers in this specialty to be 50+ miles from the contracted campus only
  • Floating to other qualified units or campuses is required based on census needs, with competency verification required prior to floating
